| Fishing Report by J.W. Peterson 3-5-07 Water Level: 401.1 Still about 2 feet low. Water Clarity: Most of the main lake is stained. Muddy in the back of the creeks and coves due to lots of high wind. Water Temp. Ranges from 55-59 degrees. Bass Fishing: The Bass fishing for us over the past week or so has either been very good or very tough due to a lot of high wind. We are just now starting to catch some numbers of Bass moving up to spawn but you just can't get much done in a 30-40 mph wind. On one of our trips this past week Guide Danny Holder caught and released a Giant Bass that weighed 12.53 lbs. The big fish was caught on a Crawfish pattern Rattle Trap in about 8 feet of water. The water temp is on the rise and look for the fishing to improve each day now as we get closer to the full moon on March 4th. If we don't have any major cold fronts to set us back, we should see our first wave of fish moving up to spawn in the next few days. If you are planning to fish Lake Fork during the spawn, now would be a good time to get started. Mexico: The Bass fishing in Mexico still remains good and we are about to take our 4th trip of the new year to Salto and Comedero. I will have a new report for you when we return on March 12th. We have already set our dates for the Spring of 2008 so if you want to get in on one of these trips early, now is a very good time to get signed up. Even though it's very early, most of the 4 day trips in Feb 2008 to Comedero are filling up. I plan on taking groups to Comedero on Jan 1st, 21st, Feb 18 and Feb 25.
