Lake Fork Guide Fishing Report 4.1.13

Welcome to Lake Fork April is here now and I think it's setting up to be a great month of fishing. We had a hard cold front come in earlier this week and slowed our fish down. There are fish spawning on parts of the lake now but the hard front held a lot of new fish back from moving up on the full moon we just had on the 27th .The bite was tougher for us the past couple of days but with temps pushing back up it's going to get real good quick and should be a strong month for numbers and size during the major spawn this month. There have been a lot of double digit fish caught here since Jan. this year and I think April will prove to be awesome! There are a lot of baits and techniques that will work this month. The best depths will be from the spawning fish that are now on beds in 1 to 4 ft. on upper end all the way to 10 to12 ft. for staging fish in mid to lower end of lake on main lake and secondary points and drops near deeper water.Theres always deeper fish but this depth will be where the most active bite is. Texas rigs, drop shots, short c-rigs, jigs, wacky worms, shaky heads, small cranks and spinnerbaits can all be fished at certain times this month. That's what is good about the month of April you can catch fish so many ways out there. A lot of boats are on the water right now so everyone needs to respect other fishermen and be very safe when running and stay in the boat lanes when up on pad. This is a very good time to come to Fork and maybe catch your personal best. I have some April dates left if you need a guide. You can reach me by email [email protected] or call my cell @ 972-979-4850. As always thanks for reading my report. Good Fishing! Eddie Garrett
