More Info

The LFA's last team competition was completed today with a slight wind out of the south until after noon when it stopped altogether. The fish were feeling the cold front coming in and the bite was very hard for all but there was only one skunk. Fish were caught but the slots stayed away.

Each team counts their best 10 fish caught between them. Of course all of the fish caught are measured on a Chek it Stik, recorded and then released. No fish are retained unless someone were to catch a SAL which has never happened. The overs we catch are released as well.

. All of our tournaments, on the other Thursdays daytime during the month are draw. Members are always fishing with someone new thereby getting the opportunity to learn many techniques, baits, and places. We are not capped and are always looking for new members to join our other 50+ mostly seniors.

While members catch a fair share of Lake Fork overs, that is fish over 24", most of the bass are of normal size. For us everything 10" and over counts. Some days a little bass is what saves your day.

The fish that were caught today mainly came on rattle traps and square bills in 10' or less.

Bob Roberts and Wallace Dyer were first with 7.86 LB on 4 bass anchored by Wallace's 2.13 lb. lunker.
Randy Steele and Jackie Price were second with 6.69 LB on 5 bass anchored Randy's at 2.49 lb. lunker.
Galen Smith and Bruce Allen were third with 6.03 LB on 4 bass anchored by Galen's 1.42 Lb. lunker
Jack White and Tom Charlebois were fourth with 4.25 LB on 4 bass anchored by 1.54 lb. lunker.
Don Overstreet and Gene Shoemaker were fifth with 4.25 LB on 4 bass anchored by Don's 2.13 lb. lunker.
Charlie Abresch had the 3.16 lunker of the day.

22 keepers were caught and most were small..
