DATES: 8 – 14 March 2020

What a great week to fish beautiful Lake Fork. The water temperatures are in the
mid 60’s and the water clarity is getting better every day. As of the time of this
report the water clarity in the upper creeks on the Fork side of the lake is heavily
stained and the lower portion of the lake is clearing up nicely. The Bass spawn in
in full swing. Numerous buck Bass are being caught and the females are moving
in and out. The Zoom Baby Brush Hog worked the best on both males and
females in 2 to 4 foot of water. We rigged the Baby Brush Hog Texas style. The
Zoom watermelon/red fluke put numerous bass in the boat this week. We dyed
the tails of the flukes chartreuse and rigged them on a split shot rig.

The Crappie fishing also picked up this week. We found them in 3 to 4 foot of
water starting to spawn. The good ole minnow rig is the best way to put a limit in
the boat. Don’t forget to keep your receipt for the minnows.

The White Bass are still missing from action. They are still in 24 to 26 foot of
water and are on a diet. However, as the water continues to warm up this week, I
expect them to start to move up the creeks at any time.

The Catfish fishing is still slow. It is noted the Catfish started to eat more punch
bait this week. Look for them in 24 to 26 foot of water around old trees. Don’t
forget to bait your holes and trees.

On our equipment list this week was our Ranger 520c from Nichols Marine,
powered by a Mercury 250 Pro XS, Duckett Rods. ABU Garcia reels, Stren line,
Zoom soft plastics, V & M soft plastics and Buddy’s custom baits from here at Lake
Fork.

Here at J & M Guide Service we still have a few dates open in April for trophy Bass
trips. Give us a call at (903) 413-6919 or E-mail us bassmr@geusnet.com . Have a
safe fishing week and be courteous to your fellow anglers and Guides. Don’t
forget to wear your kill switch---It’s law!
