Wow, it is hot here at Lake Fork! The water temperatures have hit 90 degrees and the water clarity is good in most parts of the lake. The Bass fishing is fair with the best fish coming off a Carolina rig in 22 to 24 foot of water. We used Buddy’s Custom Baits watermelon red Boss Hog as our main bait for the Carolina rig. Make sure you dye about a ¼- inch of the tails chartreuse. The early morning bite is still good with a Strike King KVD gizzard shad 1.5. After about 7:30 move out to 22 to 24 foot of water and fish a Carolina rig. If you are looking for just one or two big bites a day, you might want to us a ¾-ounce brown/black/orange football jig in 12 to 24 foot of water over isolated brush piles. Hold on because they will try to break your arm ☺.

The Crappie anglers had a tuff time this week. The Crappie were found suspended in 10 to 15 foot of water around old trees. Bubba’s Baits hand tied white with orange tail 1/8 ounce Crappie jig tipped with a minnow was a sure fire way to catch a good mess of Crappies.

The White Bass have headed out to the 26 to 30 foot of water and are suspended near large balls of shad. Find the shad and you will find the White Bass. Use Joe Spaits Flutter spoon to catch them.

The Catfish anglers found that many of the catfish caught this week were 12 inches or less. You need to turn them back because they are the future of the catfish population in the lake. Minnows were the best bet to catch the Catfish this week.

On our Equipment list, this week is our Ranger Z520c powered by a Mercury 250 Pro XS, Lowrance electronics, Duckett rods, ABU Garcia reels, Stren line, Bubby’s Custom Baits, Bubba’s Baits Hand tied Crappie Jigs and Strike King KVD hard baits.
