The lake level is rising and big bass are on the move! We are currently 3.77' low and there is still some runoff on the way. We just need to get another foot or two and the water will be in some vegetation that was growing on the banks. This will be great cover for the bass fry from our upcoming spawn!
Due to some unseasonably cold weather fish are pushed back from spawning and staging areas. The next warming trend will bring in spawning fish on the north end of each major arm and creek, and prespawn fish will move onto staging areas mid-lake to the dam. This works out perfectly for me, because I love targeting big prespawn females before they move in.
Here are some nice fish we have caught lately. I'm looking forward to much bigger ones soon!
