DATES: 16 – 22 August 2020
It was another hot week here at beautiful Lake Fork. The water temperatures
remain in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. The water clarity is still stained in the
upper creeks and remains perfect in the lower lake. The Bass fishing picked up a
little this week. The Zoom Ol’ Monster worm seem to be on the top of the Bass’s
menu. We found the black and blue and plum apple worked the best. Fish it in
the tops of old trees in 18 to 20 foot of water.
The Crappie fishing was still slow this week. However, the Crappie have seemed
to be relating to old trees in 18 to 24 foot of water. Minnows are still on the top
of the Crappies menu.
The White Bass are still on strike.
The Catfish are the only species that wanted to feed constantly this week. They
have moved in to the isolated brush piles and taken over. We found that
minnows worked the best most of the week.
On our equipment list this week is our Ranger 520c powered by a Mercury 250
Pro XS from Nichols Marine in Longview, TX, Duckett rods, ABU Garcia reels, Stren
line, Strike King hard baits, Bubba’s Baits Crappie Jigs, Buddy’s Custom Baits from
here at Lake Fork, X-VIII Custom Baits and Zoom soft plastics.
